Podcast: Download (17.5MB)
It’s Friday and the World Cup starts today, which is awesome. What’s also awesome is that DC has reached show number 70, which is now online!
In this week’s show, I talk about the recent Super Extended (aka Overextended or Extended Plus) tournament that took place in Richmond, London. I explain the format and the deck I played, and talk a bit about the meta as well.
After that is a quick look at week 6 of season 2 of the Richmond Legacy League.
As always your comments and suggestions are very welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, and don’t forget to check out the forums, too!
You’ll also find DC hiding in the fancy camouflage that is the social web at Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
Thanks for listening, and enjoy the World Cup!

Maybe in that Super Extended deck of yours, you could also use Death Cultist as one of you one drop win conditions. It seems better than that other black card you mentioned and also having more than 2 helps when you get Extirpated. And also, I love Death Cultist and would love to see it actually be used for something. =P
Yeah, Death Cultist would definitely work well in the deck in addition to Bile Urchin. I completely overlooked it. Thanks for the suggestion!
hi alex! been a while since i visited your site. it looks great now! could i suggest something? could you post decklists whenever you talk about certain decks? it would be interesting.
thanks!
Listening to the Podcast, Wizards of the Coast stated also that on MTGO there isnt much daily events or premier events in extended being played. And this isnt too far fetched, if you check the “whats going on” portion of the MTGO site, youll see that we are lacking in Extended Daily events.
there are i think about 4 daily events for extended, and i see atleast 2 a day that go without players playing in them. in the tournament Practice room i only see a hand full of extended games happening, Sure this pissed off a lot of players outside of MTGO, but within MTGO wizards makes the conclusion that the format isnt “liked”… which is untrue.
i do agree that they butchered the format and still not give us a reason to play it.
