It’s unusually warm in London right now, and somewhere in the heat haze (yes, in October!) you’ll find DC 109. It’s a bit late because, well, “they” haven’t invented a way to add hours to the day!

To kick off the cast, I talk about the Innistrad pre-release over in Richmond, Surrey. It was the usual chilled affair that is the hallmark of a good Richmond pre-release. I also discuss my impressions of the set, including Dual-Faced Cards (or DFCs to their friends).

After that is the first listener question of the series! It was sent over by Viki Rosen, a familiar name around here.

As always, please do get in touch at show@deckconstruct.com, and swing by the DC Forums, too.

You’ll also find DC on the socials at Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.

The scene: present-day London. The day: Friday. The podcast: DC 98!

This week kicks off with a recap of the SOM/NPH sealed event we had at Richmond on Wednesday May 11. This event replaced the pre-release which was supposed to happen on May 8 but didn’t because apparently DPD is all that good at shipping Magic product!

After that is the first ever listener question on DeckConstruct! A mystery listener from NYC has a question about the CounterTop combo, and I do my best to answer.

Finally, I talk a bit about Block Constructed and Extended coming to an FNM near you!

As always I’d love to hear from you at show@deckconstruct.com, and why not saunter over to the DC forums to have a bit of a chinwag about Magic.

It’s Friday once again, and show 90, the final show of series 7, is ready to go!

This weeks kicks off with a recap and some thoughts on the Mirrodin Besieged pre-release at Richmond, which took place on January 29th 2011. I also share some thoughts on faction packs and how well they worked.

After that is a look at a new Magic variant called Magic Poker. A friend came up with this and I’ve finally got around to featuring it on the show! Thanks, Paul, for the excellent idea!

As always the inbox at show@deckconstruct.com is waiting for your email, should you have any feedback on or suggestions for the podcast, or opinions on what makes for a great sponge cake. Also, check out the DC Forums which lack sponge cake discussion, but feature some great MTG discussion!

You’ll also find DC chattering, socially, among the drinks holders they call Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.

Thanks for listening, for subscribing (if you do), and for waiting (if you did) between shows 88 and 89! DC will return in late March with series 8, so be sure to look out for it then.

Hello from a wet London! The rainclouds have descended upon South-East England this week, but that’s not going to stop show 82 from hitting the interwebs!

This week starts with a recap of last weekend’s Scars of Mirrodin pre-release in Richmond, London/Surrey. I go over what happened, what I played and also mention a special guest who was at the pub.

After that is a look at my top 11 cards from Shards block. The block rotates out of Standard today, so I do the traditional look at cards that I found fun and impressed me from the block.

Finally this week is an unintentionally long section on ROE cards that have caught my eye. I suppose there’s a lot to talk about when a new set comes out!

I’d normally do this the week after the event, but I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth postponing to get Dan back on the show last week!

After that is a quick look at week 2 of season 2 of the Richmond Legacy League. I couldn’t make it to this one, but lots of people on MagicPlayers.co.uk did.

Woo yay it’s Friday and time for show 33 to hit the netwaves.

In this week’s show we talk about the Eventide pre-release in Richmond that we both went to, hosted as always by They Walk Among Us. We also talk about Standard post-Eventide, with a look at some cards from the set and also a brand new combo-based deck whose combo is made up of common and uncommon cards!

As always we really like receiving feedback, which can be sent to show@deckconstruct.com. We’re also on YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo and now Twitter as well. Our tweets will be about pretty much anything Magic-related (and some things that aren’t), including show updates.

Thanks for listening!

Show 26, the last show of series 2, is now online! Yes, we’re taking a break, and will be back in June with DC series 3.

This week, we talk about the Shadowmoor pre-release that we went to last weekend in Richmond. We also discuss cards from the set that we think are limited bombs, and give our opinions on constructed-worthy cards as well. In addition to all that, we also give you a rundown of UK-based MTG events coming up soon as, after all, we’re UK-based ourselves.

As always, we appreciate reading your thoughts via show@deckconstruct.com. Also, don’t forget to check out our forums if you haven’t already done so. Even though we’ll be off-air during May, we’ll still be in the forums discussing all things Magic and non-Magic. Our Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo locales are also kicking around, so why not check those out, too.

Thanks for listening, thanks again if you subscribe to the podcast, and we’ll see you in the summer!

Show 14 is now online, and it’s a long one this week – our longest so far, in fact.

On this show, we talk about our experiences at the Morningtide pre-release in Richmond, London, last weekend. We also cover drafting with Morningtide in mind. This is a general guide to drafting, with examples plucked from Morningtide and, to a lesser extent, Lorwyn.

As usual your thoughts are much appreciated! Email show@deckconstruct.com or visit the forums and let us know what’s up in your mind.

Thanks for listening!
