The Friday sun bears down again, and DC 101 is ready to go!

This week’s show focuses on the first ever Tuesday Night Overextended, which happened on Magic Online this past Tuesday, May 31 2011. The event had a great turnout to kick off Overextended on MTGO, and some great decks emerged in a wide-open field.

I discuss some of the decks in the top 16, including how they play and the cards they run. It was a fun night of MTG and well worth logging on for as TNO will be a regular Tuesday night event!

As usual your comments, suggestions and suggestions for the ideal ice cream sauce are welcome at show@deckconstruct.com, and stop by the DC Forums for a natter about MTG.

DC is also on the social sidewalks they call Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr, and why not record a question or shoutout and send it to audio@deckconstruct.com via Vocaroo.com or WeTransfer?

Thanks for listening!

It’s Thursday, and DC 96 is out a day early. I blame lack of procrastination!

This week’s show is about Affinity, past, present and future. To start off with I look at Affinity’s past including early versions of the deck and how it terrorised Standard for so long.

After that I look at present-day versions of the deck and also at challenges that Affinity faces as New Phyrexia rolls into various formats. I talk about my build which I’ll play at the Legacy event at GP London, and about how Affinity has reconfigured itself to be competitive in Legacy today.

Your comments, questions and suggestions are welcome as always at show@deckconstruct.com, or head over to the DC Forums for public discussion about all things MTG and not MTG.

You’ll also find DC creeping ninja-like around the social hallways that are Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.

DC show 59 is now up and ready to go!

To start this week’s show, I talk about how the Grand Prix Trial went for last weekend. This was a Legacy GPT for a Legacy GP – Grand Prix Madrid, which is happening this weekend. I took along Affinity, and talk about how I did and what I would change if I were to play the same deck again.

After that is a look at Pro Tour San Diego from last weekend, and specifically why I stayed around to watch the Jund vs Jund final when many on Twitter were saying they were clicking the X.

As always, email line one is open if you have any comments or questions; please send them to show@deckconstruct.com. Also, the DC forums are open all hours as always, so why not sign up and talk about MTG there?

It’s a pretty rough night in London weather-wise, and it’s also Friday the 13th! Never fear, though, because show 48 is now online!

This week’s show is about non-rogue decks in rogue forms. First up is a Zendikar Standard-legal take on Goblins, following that is a look at a different sort of Legacy-legal Affinity, and the show ends on a toasty note with a look at a Zendikar Standard-legal burn deck.
