Planechase
I was playing a casual multiplayer and was using the planechase cards.
They would really change how the game was going to people who were in the lead on life and board presance to being behind. We were playing with a big pile in the middle, but my understanding is your ment to build your own decks of 10 cards, that aid your deck in someway. Getting to the point, my questions are: Has anyone made a deck of planechase, that worked well with there main deck? What do people think of planechase? |

RE: Planechase
Very fun multiplayer format
I enjoyed playing it in a 6 way game. Only one of us had Planechase cards, but he hadn't designed them to benefit his deck so it worked out nicely for everyone involved. It's always a fun twist on Magic! I haven't personally made a Planechase deck but I will say that I'm pretty sold on it as a multiplayer format. If any big name companies like SCG or Wizards did a $5k event or something for Planechase I think it would stimulate a lot of casual players towards the tournament arena. It'd be quite an interesting final between two players with designed Planechase decks .

RE: Planechase
You build a deck of 10 different planechase cards, that impact the game in one way or another. An example one gives everyone a coat of arms effect. Then during your turn, you can roll a planechase dice, which has 4 blank sides, one chaos and one planescape symbol. If you roll the planechase symbol, you put the current planechase card under its owners deck, and you reveal your next card. If you roll chaos, you get a secondary ability that is on the planechase.
I hope this makes sense... |

RE: Planechase
Planechase is fun but I find it more enjoyable if you play the chaos approach meaning there is one large pile in the center and each player has the chance to roll to walk off. It makes the games more chaotic and more fun. For example, one of my friends was running affinity and had dominating board control when we walked on to sanctum of serra. (which reads: when you plansewalk away from sanctum of serra, destroy all noland permanets.) So me and the other to players devoted all of our strength to walking of the plane while he desperatly tried to kill us before we could. I am looking forward to combining planechase and Archenemy
