Polymorph deck
I've been wanting to make a polymorph deck for some time, but I want to make it UG. U for the permission and of course the polymorph itself, G as i thought i'd add some mana ramp in the deck aswell to try and go off earlier and still have mana for a dispel or negate.

The below deck is a very quick thought.

4 x Misty Rainforest
4 x Verdent catacombs
2 x Terremorphic expanse
3 x Khalni Garden
6 x Forrests
6 x Islands

4 x Harrow
2 x Khalni Heart Expedition
2 x Avenger of Zendikar
2 x Explore
2 x Rampaging Baloths
4 x Lotus Cobra

2 x Hedron Crabs
4 x Polymorph
4 x Inkwell Leviathan
1 x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4 x Dispel
2 x Negate

2 x Jace, the Mind Sculptor

Any suggestions or questions. Maybe Kracken hatchlings would be good in the deck its a great turn one blocker, and a good target to polymorph as its out of bolt range to kill it in response.

I have not thought about new cards much other than adding the card you get for the pre release thats why i've only got the one eldrazi in the deck.

As ive only just put the list togeather at work, so no sideboard plans at all yet.

RE: Polymorph deck
We have already talked about this deck a bit over here.

The main problem with your deck is that it is full of targets that you don't want polymorph to hit. You really want to have tokens to target with the only creature you hit being something like Progenitus, Iona, or darksteel colossus. Brood tokens may make this deck better though that remains to be seen.

RE: Polymorph deck
If the green sorcery becomes confirmed. That is rampant growth and provides you with a eldrazi spawn.

I think the deck might become a possability once the whole set has been spoiled.

RE: Polymorph deck
While the spawn tokens may help make this deck better by making ramping mana to actually cast a big creature a possibility, currently there are plenty of solid token generators in standard. I think a solid u/r deck can built currently. ROE does add a number of options but we should wait until the set is out to determine what would be best in the deck.

A buddy of mine built a u/r polymorph deck. I think his list was something like Goblin Assault (or whatever that enchantment is that generates hasty goblins each turn) and polymorphing into Iona. It was a little inconsistent, but awesome as hell when the combo went off (well, for him, not so much for me.)

We make the dragons as we make the gods, because we need them, because, somewhere deep in our hearts, we recognize that a world without dragons is a world without magic or mystery, and that is not a world I would want to live in.

RE: Polymorph deck
Yeah it is goblin assault though the tokens are not hastey, they just have to attack each turn when able. With red you also get dragon fodder which is a solid token generator. The deck should be pretty consistent as long you can keep a token alive and can draw a polymorph. The main problem is keeping those pesky tokens alive while drawing into a polymorph.

RE: Polymorph deck
I would put See Beyond into a Polymorph deck, as it's awesome for when you draw your Polymorph target (just shuffle it back in).

Awakening Zone (aka Eldraziblossom) might be a good idea, too. The spawn tokens can block to keep the heat off, as well as sac for mana which can help if you're mana screwed.

RE: Polymorph deck
Would the trade of slower mana from halimar depths be worth the trade to maybe get an assist to your polymorph targetting? Maybe Verdant catacombs? I know it drops the chance for speeding up landfall (cobra) but I find them handy in casual games I've had.

I'm a big fan of the ponder land. Polymorph does not really have any other one-drop (unless it is a real ponder) so I think running the depths is a good idea. Lotus cobra is pretty wretched in polymorph so not being able to use it as efficiently is not a problem.

RE: Polymorph deck
U/R is definitely the ticket. Dragon fodder and goblin assault and wind zendikon will provide sufficient poly-fodder. Also using red allows for the use of red's removal (bolt, fallout, etc.). In addition you'll be able to use double negative to counter cascade. As for blue spells i think see beyond, and dispel are must haves. The problem with this deck is going to making sure that you get polymorph, you play it without it getting countered, and the creatures your searching for aren't in your deck. When playing blue decks dispel will be a good sideboard and can be held back to play polymorph on turn 5 with a bit of protection. As for actual creatures in the deck i would keep it limited to only your big creatures, it would be a shame to polymorph into something silly.

RE: Polymorph deck
My one problem with the simic deck is that it runs very few token generators. I think putting in some awakening zones could help the deck a lot. Otherwise I am interested to hear how it does.

RE: Polymorph deck
I was thinking of adding in Awakening Zone, maybe Growth Spasm, Dispel, See Beyond and maybe Deprive although not sure if im sold on this card yet.

I havent really thought about which cards id put in or how many, and definately havent got to the point of what i would take out. Once Ive got the commons from RoE i'll do some play testing and see.
