Magic Forums / Websites
I've only just recently started using the net in hopes to improve my game. Currently im using in addition to this forum/podcast I'm reading Star City Games, Draw3Cards, MTG main website and TCGPlayer. Not forgetting my local clubs forum Rayleigh Games Club

What sites do other people use or podcasts do they listen to?

RE: Magic Forums / Websites
First I would not recommend reading Starcitygames or the Magic Main page. Star City Games has very few people who can write decent articles that are not premium (I can think of two, and one of those is mainly premium). Wizards has also removed most of their good writers and generally has pretty useless articles that are generally self promoting and obnoxious (sorry Mark Rosewater I don't want to know how your wedding or Disney cruise was like designing a new set).

I would recommend Judgecast (you can find it on mtgcast.com). Mtgcast has a lot of podcasts but they generally annoy me as the hosts just make bad jokes instead of saying anything interesting (you may find some of the shows useful though). I lurk on MTGSalvation and The Source. The Source may not be your speed as it is legacy focused (I think you are looking for standard focused sites). MTGSalvation is huge and has some good posters but a number of threads turn into flame wars (any chance of me joining died in a recent flame war about who could post in Decks to Beat threads). Deckcheck.net is also awesome as you can look at tons of decks (and is superior to starcitygames as deckcheck has more than just major tournaments).

Channel Fireball is putting out some good stuff these days as well. I was impressed by this past week's articles.

EssentialMagic (US website)
This site lets you have a virtual database of all the cards in your collection and view their value. Good for trading. Plus another good form with helpful people. Plus another site like Gatherer and MagicCards.info

MTGSalvation, Top8Magic and MagicDeckVortex are all good. However, I must make the point that of all the MTG podcasts on the web (trust me I listen to about 15 different podcasts, all subscribed on iTunes) I can truly say that Deckconstruct is by far the best, so kudos Alex.

My local club is actually run in Pickering, North Yorkshire, in Lady Lumley's School on a Thursday night from 3.35 until 7.00. We have an extensive dealer, whom many of you might know as the administrator of Brainrod, who does fantastically well. We also have RPGs running and Warhammer 40,000. So anyone who happens to live in the UK, and in North Yorkshire, and nearby may want to check it out.

I know that guy! I used to live in Middlesbrough and trade with him! Small world! (If its a tall blonde guy with a name similar to an actor in Star Wars!)

I play Legacy mostly and I visit The Source, MTGSalvation, ChannelFireball, ManaNation, Magicplayers.co.uk for Uk Legacy, TheManaDrain for Vintage, and the Storm Boards for all things Combo! I love me some Combo!

I'll check out these sites, I haven't heard of some of them.

Besides DC, (obviously) I usually check MagicCards.info TheSource and mananation.com
