RE: Magical Music
Well I like listening to most music, I am mostly into Post-hardcore, which is a build off of metal, and classic-rock, but I also enjoy listening to Muse while I build a deck, or even play magic at times with the guys!

RE: Magical Music
This past saturday I caught Mastadon, Between the Buried and me, and Baroness at a concert in Columbia, MO. Small show of only about 250 people. Got to party with Mastadon and Baroness and about 100 people after. Bout the best concert rock wise of my life. Deadmau5 just announced a concert on July 22 in Chicago that I'm going to be at. Then there is Tool coming to St.Louis on June the 23rd. Summer is such a great time for music.

Went and saw this last night in Grand Rapids, Mi
Was a bit disappointed overall.
Valiant Thorr did a fine job opening, not my cup of tea but solid

Baroness stole the show IMO, came across much better live than on CD, very impressive

Between the Buried and Me definitely had the crowd going but did nothing for me, Definitely not my thing.

The big disappointment was Mastodon. Now granted they started behind the eight ball without Bill Kelliher, guess he took sick and was hospitalized two days before. The two Baroness gutarists took turns on the first four songs but after that they went on with just Brent Hinds on guitar. Now I'm no musician but I thought it was a bad move , the sound was lacking IMO and to top it off they only played one hour with no encore. The club was packed and the crowd was into so it wasn't a lack of response, maybe a lack of songs to play without Kelliher ? Guess I should be happy they didn't cancel the show completely but other than the Baroness part of the show it was a lackluster concert

I get a chance to go see Iron Maiden this summer in Detroit. So that's 1 thing planned so far. Wouldn't mind seeing Mau5 as well in IL.

RE: Magical Music
They did the same thing at our concert. Although Baroness actually did an exceptional job at the show of covering for missing member. They did two encore songs which were Aqua Dementia and Blood "something somethign" I can't remember the name. I was there really for Baroness and BTBAM.

Baroness did very much impress me in their own performance. I have to say that Thorr did a terrific job of getting the crowd into the vibe. His talks in between playing were awesome to me.

BTBAM played 3 of my favorite songs that they do so I was going nuts. "desert of song" is thier accoustic-esque song they do. It's got a really good tune to it, but I was told I would never see it live because Paul (Their Lead Guitarist) is very very shy and he sings the opening of the song, but they did it and it was awesome.

RE: Magical Music
I listen to mostly hardcore rock type things Like Avenged sevenfold, and Three Days Grace. I also Listen to screamo, like Emmure and Suicide Silence
I pretty much listen to the same thing Valconis does, considering we do play magic together quite frequently.

RE: Magical Music
That may be true, but all of their characters are based on real people.

Mastadon
Gojira
Korn
Deadmau5 (Whole reason I'm going to the Electronic Daisy Carnival this year)
Dethklok (which was surprisingly good since none of it's members are real)

Would love to catch daft punk live sometime but they are hard to find in the States. Unless I want to do some serious traveling I doubt I'll get to see them.

I don't think "Based on real people" is really true. At least they aren't based on the people that make the music for the show and band. The drummer was a huge dude that looked nothing like pickles, and with Brandon Small doing the voice of Nathan, he doesn't really look like Nathan either. If they are based on real musicians, which ones are they supposed to be?

RE: Magical Music
Nathan is based on 'Corpsegrinder' from Cannibal Corpse, Skwisgar Skwigelf is based on Ynwie Malmsteen, Toki Wartooth is based on Mikael Ã…kerfeldt from Opeth, Pickles is based on Roger Taylor, and im not entirely sure who Murderface is based on...
