The Random Format Tournament (RFT)
A few of you might have looked in the league thread and seen Elder Dragon Highlander has been changed out for something called RFT. This is a format that i introduced in the last season, and it was taken to with a lot of positive responses, so we decided to include it again in this season, only this time, have it count towards the overall standings.

the way this works, is that 4 ''small'' sets (Things like Worldwake and Mirrodin Besieged), 2 ''big'' sets (Like Zendikar and Scars of Mirrodin) and one core set (Like Magic 2011) are all chosen at random. Then, using the legacy banlist, you construct a 60 card deck, complete with 15 card sideboard.

This format is a great lot of fun and helps get a wider knowledge of cards that you might not have heard of before. It also shows players some interactions that they might not have seen before that they can use in other decks.

The sets for the next Random Format will be posted in here, and edited before each RFT event.

The sets for the May 1st RFT are:

Legions
Coldsnap
Mirrodin Beseiged
Visions
Mirrodin
Lorwyn
5th Edition

Remember, the legacy banlist applies, if you use http://magiccards.info to do your brewing, it will tell you what cards are banned and which arent.

Happy hunting

Jackal

RE: The Random Format Tournament (RFT)
Alright, the first RFT event is over, and was a lot of fun. The second sets are ready even though the next RFT event isnt for a while. This is to ensure that EVERYONE that wants to play has time to build the best deck they possibly can.

Zendikar
Champions of Kemigawa
Darksteel
Morningtide
Guildpact
Torment
Beta

This means that there are both fetchlands AND old dual lands in the format, so you can feel free to go as crazy as you like with the mana base, chances are, it will still be pretty good.
