FNM my thoughts.

Just a few days ago, went to a local FNM and felt a little overwelmed.
This was my first tourny, and also my first FNM.
I had a great time and plan to go back.
But I'm not one of those people that buys certain cards for my deck, I just put good cards that I get in packs. Is this a bad move?
Anways I ended of playing a mono-black vampire/removal deck, that got me 2W-3L, which put me in 16th out of 22. Not to bad for my first time, but open to advice.

I think that every player has gone through that phase, and it really is a good phase to be in, because you arent forking out money that you could be spending on packs to get a single card. For the longest time, i did well at my local group, usually getting 3W 1L, depending on the format. Nowadays though, i try to do the same, still, although i really try to get cards i need that have higher price tags through drafting. This is similar to buying packs, but i get to choose the rares i get out of the multitude that get opened.

It is awesome to hear how you did at your first FNM, and i hope you continue to do at least that well.

I'm getting ready to re-enter that phase Myself. I sold most of my physical cards and have been playing with proxies with people I know at work. It's really lost some meaning though so I'm headed back to draft and play what I can. Wish you the best of luck
