Quick Spar Format
Me and some friends came up with this one day. We wanted to play a round of MTG but didnt have time for a full fledged round so we cut our decks to 25 cards and 12 life. Well it realy hit off with us and we play it alot but here are the rules.

Minimum deck size: 25
Maximum deck size 30
Starting Life:12

Rules: Played like a normal game. Format (Standard, Vintage, etc...) can be decided before play.

Restricted cards: You are allowed 2 direct player damage spells but neither can be over 3 damage. So say 2 Lightning bolts would be allowed. Varied damage spells such as Fling are not allowed to be powered over 3.

It probley could use some tweaking but it's fun to play if you don't have time for a full fledged game.

Definitely an interesting idea. I'm going to try to talk a few of the guys I play with around the area about trying something like that. I was thinking about playing a format where you can only use creatures and enchantments. No instants, sorceries, planeswalkers, or artifacts (minus artifact creatures).

This sounds like a cool way to play magic when you only have a small amount of time to play. I'll try it with my brother some time this week and introduce it to my play group as well.
