New MTG playstyle of mine
I've come up with a MTG playstyle that is rather addicting and adds a twist to how you play any format of Magic. All you need is two of the 20 sided dice out of any Fat Pack and your decks. Be sure that both dice are different colors. Now on the start of each players turn after they untap and draw a card both dice are rolled. One die allows both players to play a card that has a mana cost equal to the number rolled for free. One die destroys all permanents in play with mana costs equal to the rolled number. For example, The game is played with a red and a blue 20 sided dice. Before the game starts it is decided that the blue should be the "Helper" and the red "The Destroyer". On player one's turn he rolls the dice. The blue lands on 5 and the red on 3. He and his opponent could play that turn any number of cards with a converted mana cost of 5 for free and destroy all cards in play with a converted mana cost of 3. Like i said its rather chalenging and addicting. Now any ideas for a name for this play format?
"I go against the flow of everyone else. People turn to one tactic i turn to a different tactic. They turn to one card i turn to a different card. By staying different from everyone else no one knows what i'll have and i can surprize and most likely destroy my opponent from his lack of preparedness." |

RE: New MTG playstyle of mine
Wouldn't d10's be better as d20's have a a lot of blank space. Building decks could be interesting though as you get to ignore lands and need to have a balance of cards that work together across mana costs. Card draw seems particularly broken in the format allowing which would seem to make storm decks and solid creature decks the only really viable options. I understand that it is supposed to be casual but land seems very useless in this variant and people don't like just using random stacks of cards (at least in my experience). As a format it seems very erratic as someone could potentially drop multiple 8-9 drops turn one and then sweep his opponents board to swing for the win or become a giant stalled out game as no one has a hand or board because of lucky sweeps.

Its supposed to be extremly chaotic and the 20 sided dice allows for a break in the madness every now and then.
