[Standard] Boros Bushwhacker
Hey guys here is my current standard deck. I've been fussing a lot with the mana base, trying to figure out a good sideboard, and messing with the number of bushwhackers/skyfishers (I've been debating dropping skyfisher altogether). Any input you guys have would be great!
Boros Bushwhacker Creatures (24): Goblin Guide x 4 Plated Geopede x 4 Steppe Lynx x 4 Goblin Bushwhacker x 3 Kor Skyfisher x 3 Ranger of Eos x 3 Elite Vanguard x 3 Spells (12): Path to Exile x 4 Lightning Bolt x 4 Burst Lightning x 4 Lands (24): Mountain x 4 Plains x 6 Scalding Tarn x 4 Marsh Flats x 4 Arid Mesa x 4 Teetering Peaks x 2 Sideboard (15): Celestial Purge x 4 Harm's Way x 4 Goblin Ruinblaster x 3 Pithing Needle x 2 Kor Sanctifiers x 2 This deck started off as a budget deck. I drafted triple zen many times and came across all 12 of the fetchlands by either drafting them or trading. (same thing with the goblin guides). I was also wondering if you guys have advice on how to sideboard. A lot of the time that's my biggest issue. I don't know what I should take out and what to put in. Here's what I usually do though... Vs. Red Deck Wins I usually take out 3 path to exile for 3 celestial purge and 4 burst lightning for 4 harm's way. Vs. Jund I take out 3 elite vanguard for 3 goblin ruinblaster and 4 path to exile for 4 celestial purge. Vs. Eldrazi Green I take out 2 elite vanguard for 2 kor sanctifiers. Vs. Vampires I take out 2 lightning bolt and 2 elite vanguard for 4 celestial purge. (I take out the bolt instead of burst lightning because burst lightning is my only way to remove malakir bloodwitch) I have the pithing needles in case I ever play turbo fog (for their jace) and also against planeswalker control. |

RE: [Standard] Boros Bushwhacker
First I would remove the Elite Vanguard. You really don't need another one-drop. I would replace them with hellspark elementals. Then I would remove a bushwacker (you only need two) for another skyfisher. While you said that you consider removing them, they become much better with the elementals. I would also replace 2 mountains with 2 teetering peeks as the peeks are essentially fetchlands 13-16.
When you sideboard you should probably remember that you are playing an aggro deck. This means that you are faster than most of the midrange decks that dominate standard. I believe that you should consider removing your paths in some matchups like vampires as they only accelerate them. |

RE: [Standard] Boros Bushwhacker
Ok so after worldwake game day today I think that my new sideboard would be:
Sideboard (15): Celestial Purge x 4 Kor Firewalker x 4 Goblin Ruinblaster x 3 Pithing Needle x 2 Harm's Way x 2 |
