G/R Land Control
I've been toying around with this idea for legacy play. It's far from perfect since I don't know too many legacy cards. I've been reading other decks and based mine off of those.
Land (24) 4x Mutavault 4x Rishadan Port 4x Raging Ravine 4x Taiga 4x Rootbound Craig 2x Tectonic Edge 1x Mountain 1x Forest Spells (15) 4x Devastating Summons 4x Roiling Terran 2x Destructive Force 4x Harrow 3x Lightening Bolt Artifacts (4) 4x Crucible of Worlds Enchantments (8) 4x Exploration 4x Awakening Zone Creatures (6) 2x Primeval Titan 4x Bird's of Paradise Sideboard (15) 4x Naturalize 3x Runeblaster Goblin 1x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn 4x Price of Glory Deck Construct MWS League. Season 2 is just around the corner.Sign ups have started! Check back soon for details! If your interested in signing up send Ezio, or Myself a PM. Official thread is located here.

RE: G/R Land Control
After thinking about it, would it be better to try playing Avenger of Zendikar instead of primeval titan?
The primeval allows me to drain out the land in the deck so that I can draw better things to use. However the Avenger makes having tons of land more useful, not to mention that I could cycle out say 4 lands for Khalni Garden and use those to make plants. I could also sacrifice those lands to the several affects that force me to, and bring them back for more plant madness. Hmm Deck Construct MWS League. RE: G/R Land Control
If you want a land deck you probably want to look at the 40ish land decks here. You are missing a number of the critical powerful lands. Obviously missing from your deck are such lands as wasteland, mishra's factory, and maze of ith. Other utility type lands that would be useful would be barbarian ring, glacial chasm, the tabernacle at pendrell vale, and tolaria west. The lands deck generally run on the life from the loam engine that allows you to abuse lands like wasteland and cycling lands. You have exploration but you also want manabond to dump your hand out quickly. Crop rotation is a nice tutor especially with life from the loam as you can get the land back. Most of the cards you have listed are good in standard but are subpar in legacy.

RE: G/R Land Control
Damn the luck. The linked site you posted is blocked at my work so I won't get to see that until I get home. Thank you for linking all those cards though, gives me all sorts of new ideas. It also gives me an idea about how old I should be looking. I"m not quite that far back in my exploration of all things magic.
So Life from the loam, you play it to recover three lands cards, to put them back into play, and then discard the top card of the deck to get back life from the loam, so that you can do it all over again? Hmmm, sounds interesting. As you can tell I'm attempting a control deck with lands as the main feature. If I am going to completely ignore some of the spells I got I might change colors on the deck. Especially if I'm going to play more then 30 lands, then I see Treasure hunt coming into the deck. I'd have to continue to preview some more of how these cards work. I saw Mishra's Factory, but wasn't truthfully sure how strong it is. Manabond seems sick if I was playing something like 40-50 lands. That would be nasty to drop a bunch of man-lands turn one, and swing with a raging Ravine or some such turn 2. Look's like I'm going to try a rebuild.

RE: G/R Land Control
Mishra's factory is not just another mutavault that is weaker to artifact hate but it is a 3/3 blocker as it can pump itself. I know treasure hunt has been tested but from what I know it ended up being almost exactly like a variable mulch (which some of the lands decks play) but is worse than mulch because you generally get the same number of cards but have the possibility to get less not to mention that the deck runs blue but don't really want to dedicate blue for more than intuition.

RE: G/R Land Control
Okay well I'm looking over the decks and I've come across some ones that seem like they would be fun but I fail to see the stradegy behind the ones that seem the most iteresting. Like I can see the combos in this deck but what's the win condition and what are the ideal target cards for some of the tutoring effects?
Mainboard: 1 Zuran Orb 4 Mox Diamond 1 Ensnaring Bridge 1 Engineered Explosives 4 Intuition 4 Life from the Loam 2 Gamble 1 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale 1 Karakas 1 Academy Ruins 1 Wooded Foothills 1 Windswept Heath 4 Wasteland 1 Verdant Catacombs 1 Urza's Factory 3 Tropical Island 2 Tranquil Thicket 3 Tolaria West 1 Taiga 1 Savannah 4 Rishadan Port 1 Riftstone Portal 1 Misty Rainforest 4 Maze of Ith 1 Glacial Chasm 1 Ghost Quarter 1 Cephalid Coliseum 1 Celestial Colonnade 1 Forest 4 Exploration 3 Manabond # 60 Sideboard: 1 Aeolipile 1 Chalice of the Void 1 Smokestack 1 Tormod's Crypt 1 Ethersworn Canonist 4 Leyline of Sanctity 3 Krosan Grip 1 Ray of Revelation 1 Flame Jab 1 Barbarian Ring Deck Construct MWS League. RE: G/R Land Control
The win condition is generally mishra's factory (or other manland) beatdown. The tutor effects depend on what you are playing against and what you have already but intuition is nice for tutoring up something like:life from the loam, academy ruins, and some artifact. No matter which card your opponent gives you, you will always get all three. Life from the loam and 2 lands would have a similar effect. And with all the one-ofs you can tutor up something like karakas against reanimator or tabernacle against creature swarms. If you want to test a variety of matchups with the deck I would be happy to play various decks against it.

RE: G/R Land Control
As I'm in class till much later tonight I'm not going to be able to tonight. But we should try to get some practice in before this event. I've played very little legacy and would like at least some experiance. I am thinking about playing this deck but I've some others in mind to that I'd like to give a whirl too.
