New extended, Eventide
So, I just started kicking idea's around in my head a few days back, and eventually came up with this deck. It was kinda fun working with cards mostly from eventide, as that is the set I am mostly based in. I don't know how to auto card, so Instead I loaded it onto TCG player.com. the deck is called Rainbow in the Dark, after a favorite singer of mine who recently passed away. Here is the link:

Here is the link to the autocard guide.

I am sorry if I am being stupid but can I have a better explanation of the decks point. I see R/U and R/W cards but not much synergy between them. Most of the cards are fairly weak alone, unless there is some crazy combo I don't see, which is not good in a control heavy metagame. Retrace is a fun mechanic but you really can't abuse it, you would be better off running lightning bolt instead of flame jab, and not even running cenn's enlistment and glamerdye. What are your plans for beating Faeries and 5 Color control two of the decks believed to be the best in the format?

If you decide to stay with this deck theme I would recommend using fetchlands. Playsets of arid mesa and scalding tarn would make a much more stable mana-base.

RE: New extended, Eventide
The deck was built out of cards that I simply just had. I decided to play a deck that would be fun to play, because I already have what I would perceive to be a decent merfolk deck. Alot of the cards where just fun cards that I really wanted to play, and I like flame Jab to take care of any 1/1 creatures, and because it can be re-used. I put in Cenn's Enlistment to try and ensure I would be able to have a crew of creatures pretty much all the time. I liked noggle bandit because of his no blocking except for defender ability. To be honest, I know that 5 Color Control will probably knock this out of the water. As for faeries, the best defense I have is fire at will, flame jab, and side boarding in recumbent bliss and hopefully getting my hobgoblin dragoon. The deck didn't really have an objective, except to use cards mostly from eventide. I got a box of it for my 21st birthday, because it's my favorite set and I really only had three cards from it. I agree about the fetchlands, but I don't really have the money for them. I do have on scalding tarn though that I might through in. What would you suggest I do outside of the mana base?
