G/W Lifegain
This is my second attempt at a lifegain deck in standard. I believe that the new core set has released cards that will make life gain easier to play.

4x Serra Ascendant
4x Goldenglow Moth
4x Transcendent Master
4x Brindle Boar
2x Mitotic slime
2x Garruk's Packleader
2x Baneslayer Angel
2x Felidar Sovereign

2x Leyline of Vitality
2x Rest for the Weary
2x Elixir of Immortality
4x Garruk Wildspeaker
3x Journey to nowhere

4x Sunpetal Grove
10x Plains
9x Forest

The primary win condition is actually to use the lifegain to avoid having to block and just swing away with the baneslayers or the Transcendents as the level. At 30 life the Serra Ascendants become 6/6 flying terrors for one and I think that 30 is an easily attainable goal with this build. going to give it a try out tonight.

RE: G/W Lifegain
After a few test games against randoms and a few games again penguin I've found a few flaws in the deck. First off the deck sits on a bad mana curve and although I thought I could live with it, it throws the efficiency off too much to even really play the deck. Most of the time I wasn't doing anything until turn three truly. In all games my opponent was already weakening me by that point. So some things that I want to try to change it.

Remove the 4x Trancendent Master. While they are awesome they are too slow to be effective in the deck that hopes to be playing shock troops early. In their place I added 4 Harrow to accelerate the mana that was holding me back the first few tests. This little chance did make an impact in the one game that I had today before work. I'm going to be testing a few other changes in hopes that this deck can still be competitive. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to remove the 4x Brindle Boar and replace them with Ajani's Pridemate. The one lower mana cost should help and there isn't really too many instances playing that I wasn't gaining at least one life from one source a turn.

RE: G/W Lifegain
Would the new white Ajani enchant help? As you're dragging games out, i'd have thought it might. Another one I can think of is that Artifact that resets your life to the amount as it comes into play, or does it show up a bit late? Last one I would have considered is Angelheart vial. You don't get full recovery, sure, but it does give you card advantage. If you're making games last longer, it's effect again, should help. With an enchant, the vial and the boar, would day of judgement be worth considering? Reset the board but hopefully you've got the upperhand by then?

Not sure how you Want the lifegain to assist in winning. My ideas for this style of thing usually revolve around permanants that extend the early game, to make it to my later game bombs. Though i never got it to work when i played before. Not tried in my recent return to Magic. good luck with yours!
