M11 Pre-realease strat anyone?
So I know I'm hitting a pre-realease on Saturday and I'm sure at least a few of you are as well. Any suggestions on what cards to look for in your sealed pool? What cards are you hoping to draw that you think will make the biggest impact on the tables in limited. I'm going over spoilers again today to see what I'm hoping to see in my pool. Good luck to everyone planning on going to an event.

I'm definitely hoping I pull a strong presence in white. Picking up the white ley line I think would be an awesome advantage in limited. Shroud for yourself with so little removal in the set for Enchantment? Definitely hoping to see this as one of my rares. Going through each color I see at least one mammothly huge creature which I could see being the win card for just about any deck. Picking one up as a nice beat down win condition would also be nice to see.

RE: M11 Pre-realease strat anyone?
Unfortunatly with sealed pools, luck plays a huge part and it becomes hard to play ahead because you can't tell. However that is why I like sealed because it increases the amount of skill a player needs to do well because there are no set builds to go with. Personally I am hoping for a strong pool in green and a second color. Red would work well with fireball. Green has a powerfull leyline as well as some devistating bombs but what I really want is the Fauna shamman. She is perfect for bringing up that one card you need to turn the game around. Green is also usefull because of deathtouch. I would probably run blue with green because green lacks flying and blue can cover that. Also there is MANA LEAK!!!. But again it comes down to what you open so its better to prepare for any outcome or to not prepare at all so you don't try to force something through.

RE: M11 Pre-realease strat anyone?
I'm not really trying to force anything. I know what I would like to see at this thing, but odds are Ill get stuck with a primary black card pool. It happens every time I go to a pre-release. M10, Zendikar, WW, ROE all of them I got almost entirely black pools. All my rares were black save a few that I could use. It was nice to pull two Grul Draz Assassin at the WW pre-realease.

Guess I should just be hoping for good luck. They are drafting after so some first round draft picks are also helpful. Looking for removal in that instance. It really is hard to top the efficiency of lightening bolt.

RE: M11 Pre-realease strat anyone?
I haven't had very consistent pools at the last few pre-releases. The good stuff always seems to be spread around the colours. The allies deck I made at the Worldwake pre-release was probably the best sealed deck I've made so far!

I'd prefer to get a good blue/green pool, but whatever shows up, I know I'll make a deck, then someone will point out to me the better deck I could've made instead with the other cards in my pool. Always happens. Smile

The great thing about M11 is that the rares are really good, and there are much more of them than mythics. The other rarities pull their weight as well: Condemn is an uncommon, Mana Leak (!!!) is a common and Bolt is a common, too.

It'll be a fun day tomorrow. Smile

RE: M11 Pre-realease strat anyone?
The thing I like about m11 is that the rare's that are not good for limited are very good in casual or other types of play. For example the black layline is not particularly spectacular in limited nor is the red (though better). Even so I would not be depressed if I pulled one because I know I could find a spot for it in another build. Unlike some of the rares in other sets like spawnsire of ulamog (Funny guy but not very usefull)
