Forcing your opponent to think
I thought this was a good article and easily is something that could be futher talked about. Ways to out think opponents seems to be what makes a good game different from a great game. When I see an opponent leave 3 blue land untapped with cards in hand that I'm sure they can play, I tend to cast a lesser spell they would want to end. Something like lightening bolt or something not pivatol to the deck if I can do it. I've had numerous people in MTGO take my bait too. Countering the lightning, allowing me to drop that all important pyromancers accession in this case to go on and win it. The victory felt more complete because I had out-witted my opponent. I've had people get me in the same way. I'm known to hate Nighthawks in our group. I'm always trying to be ride of them the second they hit the table because they also seem to be a losing factor to me. My friend new this and opted to play his nighthawk to draw me to play my removal, in this case terminate, then the next turn he dropped the Noctournus. While he still had taken a risk he knew that I would most likely use my removal if the nighthawk hit the table.
I think that causing your opponent to question there moves makes magic more interesting. Some of it is lost when you play through a screen, as some of poker is lost when you play at a digital table. It's hard to read an opponent when you can't see them and determine their body language. Good article Browncoat. Deck Construct League. We're back! Our first League event will be September the 5th. Season 1's Prize has been announced! If your interested in signing up send me or Artic Penguin a PM. Official thread is located here.
