Well I am happy just seeing Arch Druid getting reprinted. I have heard rumors of imperious perfect getting reprinted as well.

This would make my day as twp elf lords in the same set would be a green mages dream. However there is still no confirmation on this rumor. Even so I am still excited by the variety of cards green gets in m11 like Mitotic Slime. This is definitly finding a place in casual. And then we have survival in creature form with Fauna Shaman. Overall green seems to be getting some fantastic cards in m11

Just got a look at the finalized list of spoilers. Got to say that I'm happy to see some of the additions but this core set really does just feel like M10 with maybe 20 or so new cards. Otherwise they are just fixing cards that weren't competitive enough from Earlier sets. Megrim is gone to be replaced with the Lilliana's card that is 1 mana less

Seeing some of the cards made me feel confident that I can play this set competitively. The white cards leads me to thinking it might be possible to build a life-gain deck finally and still be competitive. I'm normally not a mono-white player but it looks like there may be a way to build a deck I could see myself thoroughly enjoying. Can't wait to see spoilers now from Scars to see what new artifact toys we get to play with. Assuming they are artifacts again.

Ok quick question. Don't they usually have 2 expansion sets between core sets?

I first noticed that the first 3 cards of the whole set would have been a pretty good combo, but noooooo, Wizards had to screw the pooch and have a if you gain 3 life, just add 1 +1/+1 counter on Ajani's Pridemate

Yeah, the used to have a core set every two years but starting with m10 and m11 they are going to have an annual core set and a new standard rotation. M10 rotates with alara block (ie once scars becomes legal).

And yes I also had to reread pridemate yesterday and was thoroughly unimpressed by it though it would be very scary and possibly broken if it got a +1/+1 counter every time you gained life.

I'm working on a deck around lifegain that I think the pride mate will still have a place in. Since he gets the counter each time you gain life, not for each life gained, but for each source you gain life from, he will be playable in the build that I am currently working on. If I don't have a better alternative to him.
