question about planeswalkers
So after a 5 year break of mtg, I decided to get back into it, as my WoW addiction has subsided for a couple of years, and xbox 360 games are getting a little on the boring side. Anyways I had a question about the new planeswalkers. If I have 7 loyalty counters on say chandra Ablaze and want to use her ability of playing any red sorceries/instants from the graveyard for free for the cost of said 7 loyalty counters. If another player lightning bolts her in the face for 3 dmg or uses an activated ability does that kill her and stop her ability from going through?

RE: question about planeswalkers
Once the ability is on the stack and the cost paid, it exist independent of its source. That does make bolting planeswalkers in response to abilities is generally useless. That also means that you can't use vampire hexmage to remove all counters in response to stop a planeswalker ability as the cost has already been paid.

Yes they do. Pithing needle will shut down any planeswalker. I beleive the wording on stifle is counter target activated abillity, which would be what a planeswalkers abilities are.
