RE: Introduce yourself! (Version 2.0)
It occurred to me that I never posted in this thread, even though I've been here for a couple of months!
So, let's see; my name is Matt and I'm from Tucson, AZ, in the US. I started playing Magic around Onslaught block (I think Legion had just been released) and my first deck was an Elf Tribe that my friend helped me build (he also taught me how to play). I played pretty casually up until Ravnica, then fell off the wagon for a couple of years. I came back into the game only recently as a result of playing Duels of the Planeswalkers on the Xbox Live Arcade, which resparked my interest and made me jump back into the game. Soon after, I started listening to Deck Construct during my commute to work, and I was quickly propelled to international fame and worldwild recognition when Alex featured my deck list on a show! I've been dodging fans and signing autographs ever since (okay, not really, but some guys at my local card shop recognized my name which was awesome!) My favorite color to play is red, although lately, blue has been catching my interest as well. As indicated by (well, just about everything I've ever posted), playing dragons is my affinity, since they're my main focus and inspiration as a fan of the fantasy genre as a whole, and the reason I first started playing Magic in the first place (the idea of being a "dragon-mage" was what sold me on the game originally.) We make the dragons as we make the gods, because we need them, because, somewhere deep in our hearts, we recognize that a world without dragons is a world without magic or mystery, and that is not a world I would want to live in. |

RE: Introduce yourself! (Version 2.0)
I'm from Abq, N.M. USA and I started playing a several years ago. My first set was Darksteel and I also played Fifth Dawn. I had a group of a few guys I worked with when I lived in Reno NV but since I've moved back to N.M. it's been tough finding other MTG players.
Talked one of my friends into playing and he's really enjoyed it so far. Looking to find more people to play with. Got back into the game during Alara Reborn and it's been a ton of fun. I do a bit of business travel (I'm a software consultant) and to help pass the time during flights and airports, I started downloading the DeckConstruct podcast, I've since downloaded every episode. Very nice site and thanks for the time and work you put in, DeckConstruct is my favorite MTG site. |
