[Standard] Polygenitus
Ok guys... I really want to make a polygenitus deck and bring it to FNM to surprise people. For those unfamiliar with the deck, you basically just run cards that can generate tokens, polymorph, and the only actual creatures in the deck are 2 copies of progenitus. (If you want to go for a flashier deck you can run Darksteel Colossus or Iona or any other massive creature...)

I was thinking running this list:

Creatures
2 Progenitus

Spells
4 Thopter Foundry
4 Angel Song
4 Safe Passage
3 Path To Exile
2 Martial Coup
4 Polymorph
4 Mistvein Borderpost
4 Fieldmist Borderpost
4 Ponder
2 Day of Judgment

Lands
4 Teramorphic Expanse
4 Glacial Fortress
6 Plains
4 Islands
2 Celestial Colonnade

Sideboard
2 Iona, Shield of Emeria
1 Path to Exile
2 Negate
4 Dragon's Claw
2 Martial Coup
4 Flashfreeze

When I've seen this deck done before I usually see it done with blue/red. I was debating and that may be a better choice... what do you think? Any thoughts on the sideboard?

"I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture" - Andrew Ryan

I think you want to run red instead of white. You get the far superior token generators dragon fodder and goblin assault. You can invest in more removal in the form of burn, more draw and protection like double negative. You do lose the fog effects but they seem unnecessary.

Yeah I have to say that I agree... here's a sample list I quickly threw together:

Creatures (2):
2 Progenitus

Spells (34):
4 Polymorph
4 Dragon Fodder
4 Goblin Assault
4 Ponder
4 Chain Reaction
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Negate
4 Summoner's Bane
3 Earthquake

Lands (24):
4 Scalding Tarn
3 Halimar Depths
7 Island
10 Mountain

Sideboard (15):
3 Double Negative
2 Swerve
2 Iona, Shield of Emeria
1 Negate
4 Flashfreeze
3 Pithing Needle

Thoughts?

They only cards I think I would want to add would be into the roil, divination or wind zendikon. I would replace some of the mass removal with one of these. 4 chain reaction and 3 earthquake seems like overkill. Otherwise the deck seems pretty solid.

Yeah makes sense... too much concern over the opponent's creatures. Plus the Wind Zendikons are great for another polymorph target.. I'd even consider dropping one Goblin Assault. Abusing the Halimar Depths plus Wind Zendikon plus Polymorph would be nice if I can manage to pull that off... Thinking about it I agree that some sort of card draw would be nice... perhaps treasure hunt with the aforementioned synergy? One issue I see with this is that once I manage to get halimar depths back to my hand with a polymorph it almost seems as if playing it again is really pointless since I'd already have a progenitus on the table..

-4 Chain Reaction, -2 Summoner's Bane, -1 Goblin Assault, -1 Dragon Fodder -1 Mountain,
+4 Wind Zendikon, +4 Treasure Hunt, +1 Halimar Depths

RE: [Standard] Polygenitus
I would remove the last two mystic snakes and keep the goblin assault and dragon fodder. Being able to swarm an opponent with goblin tokens is a solid alternate win condition and the assault helps defend against this decks worst enemy: gatekeeper of malakir.

RE: [Standard] Polygenitus
I know this is not standard, but this is the Polygenitus deck I have been running. I have had pretty good luck with it. Use the white to exile creatures and prevent damage, blue for the counter spells and polymorph. I found red has more token cards but I did not like the way the deck ran with blue and red.

Island 12
Plains 12
Path to Exile 1
Day of Judgment 1
Planar Cleansing 1
Holy Day 3
Safe Passage 3
Martial Coup 1
Conqueror's Pledge 4
Polymorph 4
Oblivion Ring 4
Journey to Nowhere 4
Cancel 4
Essence Scatter 4
Progenitus 2
