This is the companion thread for the Knight Rock deck discussed in show 43.

The current decklist is this:

LAND
4 Marsh Flats
4 Verdant Catacombs
3 Temple Garden
3 Godless Shrine
2 Overgrown Tomb
3 Forest
2 Plains
2 Swamp
1 Gargoyle Castle
1 Soaring Seacliff

CREATURES
4 Birds of Paradise
3 Knight of the Reliquary
3 Doran, the Siege Tower
3 Loxodon Hierarch
2 Baneslayer Angel
2 Ob Nixilis, the Fallen

SPELLS
4 Thoughtseize
4 Vines of Vastwood
3 Path to Exile
3 Honor of the Pure
4 Harrow

The general idea is pretty simple. 4 out of 6 of the creatures are white or partially white. This goes nicely with Honor of the Pure. All of the creatures are also good in their own right. Knight of the Reliquary goes well with Harrow, and Harrow is awesome with Ob Nixilis.

The spells are a mixture of discard, pump, removal and mana acceleration. I suppose the discard could be changed to something like Lotus Cobra if you prefer more acceleration.

In the lands, Gargoyle Castle and Soaring Seacliff are nice one-ofs to search for with Knight of the Reliquary. The fetchlands can find any land in the deck except Castle and Seacliff.

This is easily the most expensive deck I've ever made, but I made a decision to pull no punches in building it. If I feel a particular card should go in, it goes in - no substitutes.

The deck can also become a Standard deck. Replace the shocklands with basics (or maybe M10 duals), and swap Doran and Heirarch for Scute Mob and Ranger of Eos. Thoughtseize becomes Duress, and there you go. Smile

Any thoughts?
Nice, I think I would run Doom Blade in the main and keep Thoughtsieze in the board.
Game one it's great to know what your up against but I think the way the meta is shaping up I'd want the removal.
Nice deck though, I'll run it past my deck guru and get his thoughts for you.

True, you could run Doom Blade instead of the discard. I suppose it depends on your meta and what you need.

Also, in a Vampire-heavy Standard meta, Malakir Bloodwitch makes playing Baneslayer a pain. I suppose you could board in two more Ob Nixilis, but then you lose the lifelink. Tricky.
