I haven't been able to do the land yet. I played a deck similar to this one yesterday deck testing Black Attack! This particular deck caught my interest. His version of the deck contained more creatures with Exalted and Soverigns/Eldrazzi conscription Combo. While I saw that as a neat in for the deck, I'm going the more lifegain/swing for kill route as with most of my decks lately.

With this deck the object is to get the fauna shamen out, then use her to cycle the vengvines until they are all in your graveyard, then start summoning the one drop monsters to have vengevines come back for free.

I added the leylines because having just one out would make a huge difference in this deck. The reason that he lost when he did was by mere chance I was able to swing for his exact life total. The leylines provide small lifegain as well as having one takes vengevine out of bolt range, forcing players to use more removal or creatures if they are playing red to get rid of him. Having stronger creatures has never hurt. Have to test out how much they actually work.
Collar doesn't seem to do a whole lot except make chump blocking lethal. Considering you need your little guys around as mana dorks, it defeats the purpose a bit.

What about Swords instead? Or are they too scarce/expensive? Whispersilk Cloak possibly, to defend the Shaman....?
I'm not sure what you meant by swords. I've heard of these new ones that are coming out that are something stupid. Something like sword of Body and Mind. I think it was Alex talking about it. I was using the collars because it intimidates a lot of people into not swinging with their big guys for fear of them dying. Whispersilk could be a good alternative, I can definitely see it. I'm going to test out the deck with the cloaks first though. Haven't play tested this one yet.
Update, I think I have my mana base down. Going to run some testing tonight on MWS if anyone is wanting to play some games, send me a PM.
i would suggest running red for bloodbraid, you can use the shaman to discard vengevine and search for bloodbraid which will cascade into another creature to return vengvine to the field allowing you at least 7 haste damage the turn it goes off
Ah yes. Didn't really think about comboing off that way. It always slipps my mind that a spell that is payed for via cascade effect is still casted. I'm going to have to tweak the deck for that. If I'm brining in red it's going to change my spell layout as well a little. Probably going to drop the leylines.
bloodbraid elf and venegvine is a very good combo i saw it played the otherday and it was play very well i got best everytime by it Confused
