Description
DeckConstruct is a podcast, and associated website, about Magic: The Gathering (MTG). The hosts, Alex and Dan, try to look at MTG cards and decks in a creative way. They also occasionally dabble in metagame analysis, primers on various formats and topics not commonly discussed on MTG podcasts and websites.
Magic: The Gathering is a trading card game launched in 1993 by Wizards of the Coast. They didn’t predict much success for it, but it became a huge success and went on to spawn a whole new genre of gaming; a new sub-industry, in fact.
Our aim for the show is for it to be relaxed, but one that we take seriously. Many MTG podcasts — many podcasts for that matter — sound like someone just switched on a portable recorder, chatted for thirty minutes with their friends, then uploaded it straight to a web server with no regard for how it sounds. Sometimes, that kind of raw-sounding style works. However, we do things a bit differently, and try to make sure the podcast sounds as good as it can before releasing each show to the world.
